They Say

POEMS

They say if you can't smash a shuttle,

Who do you come to play?

They say, the only thing you want,

Is to have your way.

They say, if you can't drive a car,

Why do you get in it?

They say, it ain't any good,

Unless you win it.

They say you don't talk much,

Why are you always so quiet?

They say, why do you cry about it?

No one cares about your plight.

They say, it ain't worth it,

You should just give up.

They say, if you keep going this way,

One day you will surely elope.

They say, you are a friend,

But only call in need.

They say, you walk so fast,

What is it with this speed?

They say, you are so rude,

Your words always hurt.

They say, why don't you fly away,

Like that damn bird!

They say, you're always diplomatic,

For once say what you feel.

They say, dream the dreams you dream,

Babes, one day it'll all be for real.

They say, Oh you're a kid,

You just won't get it.

They say, you were supposed to my homework,

How could you forget it?

Sometimes I wonder,

Who are they to say?

They haven't lived my life,

Even for a day.
