Lonely Nights

The star of every moment,
A magician of sorts.
The smile that rarely fades,
A part of the cohorts.
An aura that attracts,
And friends come to you.
Lending a patient ear,
Is what you usually do.
You read people,
And know just what to say.
But no one notices,
How lonely was your day.
It hits you,
Not expecting the strife.
The pain so sharp,
Cuts like a knife.
The forlorn feeling,
You dread it to the core.
Nobody knows,
You can't take it no more.
The room is your reality,
Where the facade won't work.
How lonely those nights are,
As the darkness lurks.
The silence haunts,
The loneliness hurts.
Amidst the parties,
Your soul shuts.
Alone in company,
You can't relate.
You try so hard,
But the pain won't alleviate.
The fleeting moments,
Of sorrow in the midst of joy.
Take the wind out of you.
Leaving you with no decoy.
In search of meaning,
You wander around.
Looking everywhere,
But no one surrounds.
You know in your heart,
This path is yours alone.
Learning to mend,
Accepting what has gone.
The lightening strikes,
And darkness unfolds.
A familiar feeling,
You mind beholds.
Some days are bad.
Others are worse.
You hope that the rain,
Will wash away the curse.
It pinches you,
What you gave up.
The harder right,
Is not easy to keep up.
The lonely nights,
Reminding of all that is lost.
The aching soul,
Understands the cost.
