Dreams That Were and a Life That Is
POEMS

A dream so old,
Don't know when it was born.
Step by step,
Moving towards its morn.
And then the news came,
Out of the blue.
What was I to do?
I didn't have a clue.
It shattered the dream,
And left me to mourn.
Maybe it was in my blood,
But not in my bones.
All this while,
And in this haste.
I realized that,
Prince Charming too has left the stage.
All that's left,
Is a compromise.
Though there are others,
Who would think otherwise.
An option too many,
Is set in front of you.
All that's required is,
To choose what you want to do.
To choose what you want,
Versus what is right.
Thinking thinking thinking,
The choice is nowhere in sight.
You want to be happy,
Have a life of worth.
With no regrets,
When you turn to Earth.
For everyone's looking for a Happily-Ever-After,
Like it's out there on sale.
But I'm not Cinderella,
And this isn't a fairytale...
