A Window to Every Soul
POEMS

What lies beneath the surface,
One is tempted to know.
The colour of the soul,
Hidden beneath the bones.
It's easy to blur the lines,
With your eyes closed.
It's easy to rid the mind,
When there is nothing left to boast.
The questions burning in the mind,
Is it necessary to know?
Coz the answers will either,
Burn you up or let you glow.
We choose to live in oblivion,
Never daring to know.
For the fear that pain might become,
More a friend that a foe.
Living in momentary happiness,
Which may seem foolish to some.
To prefer this path to run to bliss,
Coz it's this or it's none.
Hiding from what we feel,
We put up a brilliant show.
The twist of lips is always up,
Even after the biggest blow.
Built this maddening fate,
On our very own.
The thorns now prick of the seeds,
In the past which were sown.
Hope is the last straw,
When everything else is forlorn.
Carefree thoughts of a time,
That were somehow torn.
What lies beneath the surface,
One is tempted to know.
