A Love Story

POEMS

I was in my dark corner,

Alone and in despair.

Hurt was a part of life,

The damage beyond repair.

Happiness beyond my reach,

On a cloud up there,

Pained in my solitude,

With no one to share.

The worse time of my life,

Was also my best.

Memories of when I met you,

Fresh as it were yest.

Alien to the feeling,

Of being challenged by wit.

You dared to break the barrier,

Coming closer bit by bit.

You showed me emotions,

In a whole new sphere.

You brought me the happy cloud,

And you lay me there.

I moved away from the corner,

And into your arms.

I found my safe haven,

Enchanted by your charms.

You were like sunshine,

On a rainy day.

You made all the pain,

Go far away.

You made me laugh,

And you were always there.

You held me close,

And you showed me care.

You made me dance,

To the tunes of joy.

You sang to me,

Without being coy.

But fate had in mind,

A different end to our story.

Our time together,

Ending its glory.

It was not meant to be,

And we had to part ways.

The memories with us,

Of those happy days.

It pained me to be with you,

For no future I could see.

But the pain of staying away from you,

Does no good to me.

Nothing soothes the hurt,

Of leaving someone you love,

And to take this decision,

Couldn't be more tough.

I leave with a prayer,

That you be happier everyday.

And that you find someone,

Who shows you a brighter way.

And so I go back to my dark corner,

With love in my heart.

But this love bleeds,

As it's in a broken heart.
