A Bowl of Courage

POEMS

I can't see to find,

My bowl of courage.

I used to scoop some out.

In times of need.

I asked my friends,

Have you seen my bowl of courage?

They said, courage is an illusion,

It's all an act and deed.

I went to the police and asked,

Have you seen my bowl of courage?

What courage? Only power will help you,

To lead and succeed.

I asked the old man,

Sitting in the corner.

He said, courage is the strength you have,

In situations of need.

I asked my mother,

She pointed at my heart and said.

It is right inside you,

And there it was indeed.

We choose to forget,

What lies inside of us.

And in times of trouble,

Believe in creating a fuss.

When the time comes to act,

We hide in the nook.

We can't find the courage,

Or don't know where to look.

Enough of silly excuses,

What a pathetic sight!

It's high time now,

To do what is right.

It may be hard and hurtful,

To set things apart.

But sometimes things just have to end,

Because they were never meant to start.

So, I need to scoop a little courage,

From my little bowl.

Because courage is what I need,

To get this ball to roll.

To set right,

The wrong that I did.

And so finally I can stop,

Hurting myself in the bid.
